Professional History
Work Experience

Adjunct Faculty
February 2019 - December 2020
Teaching undergraduate nursing students at the Baccalaureate level helped me to develop an appreciation of the professionalism and dedication of Master's prepared nurse educators. As an adjunct faculty member, I demonstrated innovative and educational teaching sessions to large groups of nursing students on the topics of pathophysiology and medical-surgical nursing. I was able to demonstrate best practices for instruction, assessment, and evaluation of student's learning needs.
RN - Progressive Care Unit
June 2009 - Present
As a dedicated team member, I am able to be a clinical expert, resource, and respected nurse on the PCU. I strive to promote compassion, respect, and the highest level of competence in all interactions with patients, families, and members of the interdisciplinary team.
Clinical Educator - PCU
August 2014 - June 2019
The role of clinical educator enabled me to cultivate my passion for nursing education. As the clinical educator I helped implement orientation programs, ongoing educational sessions, and worked collaboratively with a variety of healthcare professionals to meet the educational needs of post-graduate and seasoned nurses.

The University of North Dakota is where my nursing journey began. During my undergraduate studies, I had the opportunity to work with accomplished nurse educators, preceptors, and exceptional peers. It is while at the University of North Dakota that I first felt empowered to become a nurse leader, not yet knowing that nursing education would be the path of my passion to lead.

Graduate Clinical Experiences
My clinical experiences have increased the depth and breadth of my clinical knowledge related to teaching and learning theories, strategies, and assessment and evaluation techniques. Early on in the graduate studies, I developed a renewed vigor for clinical knowledge related to the basics of pathophysiology, pharmacology and health assessment. As I worked through clinical integration as a nurse educator, I was again envigorated to apply these principles to teach the next generation of nursing students. I was able to explain and guide students' academic development by applying teaching and learning strategies to my clinical expertise in order for them to gain their own knowledge base. Also, through these clinical expereinces, I have been influenced to be a more active participant in curriculum design and academic advising to help shape the future of nursing education.
Some examples of the clinical experiences I have had as a nurse educator include:
Simulation Instruction
Direct Clinical Supervision of Nursing Students
Creating and implementing teaching plans
Test Analysis
Curriculum Committee Meeting Involvement
